Welcome to CIID
It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I join the international community of learners known as the Canadian International Institute Dhaka. Throughout my 40+ years career as an educator, I have always been drawn to serve in friendly, vibrant, community-minded schools, whose decisions always put their students first and who nurture their students to become confident, compassionate, and enthusiastic learners. I believe I have once again found such a school. I am excited about joining the CIID school community in its quest to supply global and quality education to its students. The crux of my assignment as your new Principal will be to continue creating a safe, nurturing yet challenging environment that is built on positive relationships; encouraging holistic growth for each student – emotionally, socially and academically. Together, we will develop in each student a curious, enquiring and discriminating mind, a desire for knowledge and a set of skills; linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic, physical, emotional and social.
While academic excellence will continue to be our major thrust, it is important that we shape our students to be globally aware citizens, eager to make a deep and long-lasting contribution to society. When students graduate from CIID, they will know that humanity and compassion are as necessary as the understanding of science, math or social studies. They will have become ‘problem solvers’, who pause for thought, appreciate different perspectives and are genuine global citizens as well as future world leaders. In closing, I would like to reiterate that, as your Principal, my goal is simple: quality education for the students I work for. I aspire to be working with a group of educators that is dynamic, places students first, sets its sights on quality education and finds pleasure and balance reaching its goal. I am confident I will find this environment at CIID.
